Why the Need for Higher Education in Africa?

Africans identify with Jesus on a large scale, but the saying, “Christianity in Africa is thousands of miles wide but only an inch deep,” is all too true. Advanced theological education in Africa is almost nonexistent. Africans simply do not have enough theologically trained educators. If an African is looking for advanced education, he or she has to go abroad. Unfortunately, close to 80% of students from developing nations who go to the West to pursue higher education never return to their home countries.

At the African Bible College, we select the most promising leaders with the greatest potential and train them in Africa for the good of Africa. These leaders then go out into every area of life to strengthen the African Church, equipping it to be a powerful force for the advancement of the gospel worldwide. Our goal at ABC is to train African leaders in Africa to strengthen the African Church that we believe will shape the Christianity of the future.
